Go with the flow
After being advised by two friends, in separate conversations less than an hour of each other, to go with the flow and not to think too much or analyze everything, I told one of them I'm taking their advice.
I'm going with the flow.
The superfriend welcomed the news. I was a bit surprised. Isn't that what I've been doing anyway, going with the flow?
"When it comes to [one aspect]," she said, "you went against the current."
I did?
She took it back. "Okay, you didn't go against the current. Kinda like, you stopped midstream and took a break to think... for a long time..."

Lucky you're pretty
I had just left a fastfood restaurant's parking lot on Wednesday night after driving through to get a vegetarian sandwich when a car which I thought was going straight turned right and into where I had come from.
The driver, who looked to me like a thug about my age, didn't hide his annoyance at having to maneuver around me because I had slightly blocked his way. He shook his head, clucked his tongue and seemed to contemplate whether he would let himself grow angrier as he shifted gears.
I waved through the window, which was rolled down because it was a summer night too hot for my old car's...
