updated update
In my previous update (see Feb. 5) I explained how I got a new job, how happy I was and that thinkgs were looking up. I didn't mention how the company had just been bought by another company. Well the "merger" made my job obsolete and, as of today, I am unemployed.
Update
It's been a while and I read that last entry and knew it was time for an update.
In October, the company I was working for gave me a weeks notice.
I immediately started emailing everyone I could think of asking if there were any openings where they were at. One of them replied with a posting and I sent my resume in with a cover letter mentioning several people I know who work there. One of them seemed to have a little "pull". I was hired!
I have been here since the end of October and love it! I'm a "PC Specialist" and... bonus... now make four grand a year more than I made at the last...
Money Issues... redux
Things were just looking up when I'm told I must cut my hours at work from 40 to 32.
I was barely making ends meet at 40 hours.
I advised them that I would have to look for a part-time job and if I did find something, I would not be able to leave that job to come in if there was a problem. Their reply was "do what you have to do"
I'm looking for a job... part or full. What ever works. So far out of 10 applications... one interview.
I'm thinking of again applying for assistance (got turned down the first time.)
Adventures in plumbing
My kitchen faucet has been dripping. My guy got it to stop but it started again after a few months and lo and behold last Sunday, the handle came off in my hand!
I went out and bought a new one and my daughter and I read the instructions and said "we can do this". So we went about removing the old one that has been there for I think a good 20 years, maybe? It didn't want to come out but after lots of sweat and swearing, we did it. The new one went in pretty easy and we now have a shiney new kitchen faucet. And we are so proud of ourselves because we did it!
